For as long as she can remember, Ashley Harper found solace and peace in creating art. She received her first sketchbook around 7 years of age and began sketching still-life drawings of everyday objects. Growing up as an introvert, she spent a lot of time alone, sketching up her imagination.
After going to Fashion Design school at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA, Ashley joined corporate America as a fashion designer. She spent 7 years designing for major ready-to-wear design corporations before transitioning her career to education in 2021. Although she began her art company in late 2017, her recent growth as a middle school art teacher has reignited her passion for having fun and creating.
A. Harper is best known for creating acrylic portraits, whether human or animal. She is inspired by all walks of life and enjoys including bold colors in several of her creations. As an adult, she still enjoys pencil and paper and has grown to add charcoal and oil pastels to her mediums of choice.
As her work continues to grow, she hopes that each visitor finds something that resonates with their soul…by A. Harper.
